Caves St Martin – A Heritage of Terroir, History and Craftsmanship
Located in Remich, at the heart of Luxembourg’s Moselle Valley, Caves St Martin are deeply rooted in an exceptional terroir shaped by nearly 2,000 years of viticulture. Limestone-rich soils, a temperate climate and hillside vineyards along the Moselle River create ideal conditions for producing wines and sparkling wines known for their freshness, elegance and mineral character. Nearly one kilometre of underground cellars carved into the limestone provide naturally stable conditions, perfectly suited to ageing fine wines.
Founded in 1919, shortly after the First World War, Caves St Martin were established by visionary pioneers who recognized the unique potential of this remarkable site. Over more than a century, the House has become a key reference for Luxembourgish wine, preserving and promoting a rich viticultural heritage while opening its cellars early on to visitors and wine tourism.
A dedicated ambassador of the traditional method, inspired by the principles of Dom Pérignon, Caves St Martin combine ancestral know-how with rigorous craftsmanship. Secondary fermentation in bottle and extended ageing on lees ensure refined aromas, fine bubbles and balanced structure. Today, the House continues to pursue excellence with passion, showcasing the distinct terroirs of the Moselle and contributing to the international reputation of Luxembourg wines.
