We are seeking a visionary Senior Data Governance Specialist to join our Group Data & Analytics Office. In this pivotal role, you will be at the heart of ensuring our data assets are secure, compliant, and of highest quality. You lead and contribute to the development and execution of cutting-edge data governance frameworks and strategies, leveraging your expertise in Collibra, BCBS 239 and other important topics. Key Accountabilities

 

  • Lead the formulation and implementation of enterprise data governance policies, procedures, and standards aligned with industry best practices, BCBS 239, and applicable regulatory mandates.                
    Collibra: Oversee the deployment and management of Collibra, optimizing workflows, data dictionaries, business glossaries and data quality processes to enhance data lineage, metadata management, and quality monitoring.
  • Data Quality: Partner with the Data Quality Manager and cross-functional teams to support data quality initiatives, contribute to issue resolution, and ensure governance standards enable data integrity, accuracy, and consistency.                        
  • Collaborative Partnership: Define and embed data governance roles, responsibilities, and stewardship across the organization, fostering accountability and a culture of data ownership.            
  • Risk Mitigation: Lead data governance assessments to identify control gaps, define remediation actions, and mitigate data management risks.
  • Educational Advocate: Act as a data governance evangelist, delivering impactful training sessions and supporting stakeholders in understanding and adopting data governance practices.        
  • Project Oversight: Manage and deliver governance, metadata, and data literacy initiatives across business units, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities and measurable outcomes.            
  • Compliance Enforcer: Ensure all data governance practices comply with relevant regulations and proactively address data-related risks    
  • Compliance Enforcer & Trend Watcher: Ensure governance practices meet regulatory expectations, proactively address data-related risks, and continuously monitor regulatory developments and industry trends to keep practices current and effective.

Knowledge and Experience

 

  • Further professional Education (Masters / Professional qualification)
  • More than 5 years experience in a similar role

Technical Skills

 

  • Experience with Collibra or similar tools: Demonstrated expertise in successfully implementing, managing, and configuring Collibra or comparable platforms, including proficiency in handling workflows, data dictionaries, business glossaries, and data quality management.        
  • Technical Mastery: Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, methodologies, and standards (e.g., DCAM, DAMA, BCBS 239).
  • Proficiency in SQL, data management tools and Python or R a plus.    
  • Financial Services: Experience in financial services would be a plus.
